After taking in an hour of a church service this afternoo
Hey birders,

After taking in an hour of a church service this afternoon, the family
accompanied me down to the Lake Crystal lakes to see if there were any
waterfowl. While the only goose we saw was a few scattered Canadas, there were
lots of ducks: Gadwall, Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail, Blue-winged Teal,
Green-winged Teal, Canvasback, Redhead, Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked Duck,
Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, Red-breasted
Merganser, and Ruddy Duck.

Other firsts for the year: American Pipit (scared up by the kids picking up
aluminum cans alongside the road), Turkey Vulture, Common Grackle, Song
Sparrow, American Coot.

Other nice birds: Killdeer, Cooper's Hawk, Lapland Longspur (flock of about
200+).

Happy birding!
