I had some first of the year birds on a hike along Trout Brook in the Miesville Ravine Co. Park this afternoon. 21 species including the following were seen:
Canada Goose 2 Wood Duck 32 Mallard 2 Hooded Merganser 9 Ruffed Grouse 1 Great Blue Heron 5 Bald Eagle 4 American Woodcock 1 Belted Kingfisher 2 Downy Woodpecker 1 Hairy Woodpecker 1 Blue Jay 3 American Crow 6 Black-capped Chickadee 1 White-breasted Nuthatch 2 Brown Creeper 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet 2 Eastern Bluebird 4 Hermit Thrush 2 American Robin 4 Northern Cardinal 2 -- KEVIN D.
