Took my wife out earlier today to see about finding the Eared Grebe listed on this group. Walked up path behind main building along river to first open area for viewing river on left.
After a few moments found a Horned Grebe on the near side moving with the current. Thought this meant a miss-id, but about 30 minutes later found the Eared Grebes moving in the group also. Several birders confirmed. Great treat to see both as well as some non-breeding plumage eared in that group. They mixed in with Buffleheads, Scaup, and Ringnecks. Also a pair of Osprey setup and began mating at the nest on top of the power pole. ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
