I have a flock of 38 redpolls in my yard, east of St. Cloud.  There are 3 tree
swallows huddling low in the shrubs on the edge of my wetland.  Open water is
again covered with slush.  I haven't seen the two meadowlarks I hosted during
last weekend's storm, but there are many juncos, a few fox sparrows and tree
sparrows feeding as well.

I wonder if the juncos appreciate the fact that the fox sparrows continue to
keep seed uncovered for them?  Friends that are "scratchers" should always be
appreciated!
