Silver Maples in the floodplain are beginning to flower and the first of the honeysuckle shrubs are beginning to leaf out in the understory- so far the trees and shrubs are alive with Yellow-rumped Warblers, Palm Warblers, Yellow Warblers, Orange-crowned Warblers, Northern Waterthrush, and a Blackpoll Warbler (La Crosse, WI). Also, a FOY Warbling Vireo. Clay-colored Sparrow's have arrived. Shepard's Marsh- La Crescent.
