Even though my sightings were from yesterday, I feel they are worth sharing
still.

450 American Tree Sparrow.  I began counting at the playground in Park Point
and ended the count at the airport.  I focused on counting the sparrows along
the edges of the harbor and places with high concentrations of sparrows.  I did
not count along the lake side where I suppose I could of counted more sparrows.

20  White-throated Sparrows
5    Lincoln's Sparrow
10  Song Sparrows
2    Savannah Sparrows
5    Chipping Sparrows
8    Swamp Sparrows
1    Vesper Sparrow * Casual for the Duluth area
1    Le Conte's Sparrow  * good sighting at Park Point
35  Dark-eyed Juncos

Other Sightings:

2 Greater Yellowlegs loafing on a ice flow in the harbor.
1 Long-eared Owl  ( found by Michael Furtman )
5 Red Crossbills
2 Pine Warblers
10 Yellow-rumped Warblers

A great steady stream of raptors flying over the dunes along Lake Superior.
Many of the raptors were kestrels, Sharp-shinned Hawks and Northern Harriers.

The numbers of waterfowl that were staging in the harbor has significantly
dropped in the last few days but there is still good numbers to see on the
harbor side and lake side of Park Point Recreational Area.

Good Birding
