Of the dozen or so Rose-breasted Grosbeaks that are hanging around our feeders, 
one of the males has the color variation where the "rose" color is replaced by 
a "gold/yellow" color.  The literature indicates that this is uncommon, but it 
happens.  Google "xanthochroism" if you wish to get more details for this 
condition.
