Yesterday I enjoyed a bird walk with two enthusiastic and skilled friends,
Suzanne and Lorry, at Hok-si-la Park on the east end of Lake City, accessed
from Hwy 61. We met Bruce Baer, who joined us, and was also a great help
with some of the bird ID, and in locating the birds. The day stayed reasonably
cool until noon, and the birds were constantly active and in good variety, even
in the pm.

Highlights were:

Warblers:

Ovenbird (heard only)
Golden-winged
Black-and-White
Prothonotary
Tennessee
Nashville
Common Yellowthroat
American Redstart
Cape May (great views of several)
Northern Parula
Magnolia
Yellow
Chestnut-sided
Palm
Yellow-rumped
Black-throated Green
Wilson's

Other notable birds:

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Scarlet Tanager (male and female)
Baltimore Oriole (everywhere)
Blue-headed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Empidonax Flycatcher sp. (silent)
Barred Owl
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
