I came out to have my dinner around 8:30pm, I was grateful the menacing house sparrows had gone to bed. When I thought I hear the nighthawk. And sure enough I did, along with the cardinal, the robin, the chipping sparrow, and then in the background I heard the chimney swift. It was a sweet late spring serenade. The nighthawk has arrived in this neighborhood, already. Nice! And the delightful chirping of the chimney swift returning too. In front of me were about 30 tulips, variegating in yellows, reds, and oranges, standing tall and strong , closing for one last night.
