At the end of an early morning shower, the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds fieldtrip to Itasca State Park took off with 20 species of warblers spotted including Blackburnian, Palm, Pine, Northern Parula and Black Throated Green. A lifer for some, including sixth grade birder Noah, was the Black backed Woodpecker seen near the Headwaters area. Cleone Stewart, Detroit Lakes
