After years of birding Whitewater State Park's Trout Run Trail and finding
plenty of Louisiana Waterthrushes, but no Acadians, I decided to try my luck
elsewhere in the county.
>From US Hwy 61, take Wabasha CR 29 for 1.3 miles, where it will turn into
>Winona CR 31. Follow for another .5 miles, and park in the small "Wildlife
>Restoration" parking lot on the right, which is about 20 yds past the gated
>trail. Walk the trail until you come to it's first intersection where a
>secondary trail will bend sharply to the right (about 200-300 yds. down).
>From this intersection, listen to the left. This spot, and just beyond is
>where I heard an Acadian sing repeatedly at about 10AM Saturday morning.
