I found a Franklin's Gull (adult/near-adult) this morning on the lake-side of the Park Point beach house. It was hanging out with Ring-billed Gulls. Being a gull nerd, it is a thrill to see such beautiful scalloping, field marks and colors throughout the juvenile Ring-billed Gulls this time of year.

Living just a few blocks downhill of there, I'm thankful to have such a cool place to do green-birding without using a vehicle. Mourning Warblers were a highlight, but a great spectrum of birds were observed throughout the hike. eBird list from yesterday at Hartley Nature Center http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14677721 Good birding, Erik Bruhnke Duluth, MN -- NATURALLY AVIAN - Birding Tours and Bird Photography [email protected] (e-mail) www.naturallyavian.com (birding tours) www.pbase.com/birdfedr (photos) www.facebook.com/NaturallyAvian (facebook) ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
