I was at Shakopee Lake on Tuesday the 10th around 6pm and spotted a Golden
Plover on the mudflats through a gap in the trees near the shelter at the
county park. There were other shorebirds present as well but mostly
yellowlegs. Viewing was difficult at that time of day since the park is on
the east side of the lake (viewing is west into the sun). The lake is on
the northern border of Chippewa County with the park entrance about a mile
from Swift County.

A couple of miles south of the lake there is a wetland on the east side of
Hwy 277 just south of Hwy 40 that had several shorebirds wading around in
the shallow water at the back. I spotted one Red-necked Phalarope swimming
around near the shorebirds.
