There were Brown Creepers at Carleton Arboretum in Northfield last weekend, doing their usual foraging on conifer bark, and a friend there reported some in his back yard on the south side of town as well. Soon we'll be examining clefts in tree-bark at dusk or dawn, for clusters of snoozing Creepers in torpor....brrr! Linda Whyte
