Hi, I'm planning to attend a conference at the University of Minnesota from December 9-13, and I'd like to spend a few days looking for birds and mammals after it. How easy is it to see the following species at that time of year, and where is the best place to look? Would two full days at Sax-Zim be sufficient to see all of the species marked with an asterisk plus a few of the more difficult ones, or would more time and/or locations be helpful?
Most Wanted: 1. Great Gray Owl* 2. Northern Hawk Owl* 3. Boreal Owl (probably not possible) 4. Gray Wolf 5. Fisher 6. Lynx Other main targets: 1. Pine Grosbeak* 2. Evening Grosbeak* 3.
