Curt Rawn and I tried re-finding the Townsend's Solitaire at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park and the Snowy Owl at the Arbor Lakes gravel pits as reported by Caleb Ashling on December 21 and Gerard Haines on December 19, respectively. (The latter was actually reported at the Hwy 494/694/94 interchange, and we looked there as well while we drove by at 70 mph.) We found neither bird while we were birding between 10:15am and 1:30pm today.
