I'll be guiding the next couple days and today I was out with 4 folks from
WI and MN and for the first time guided a 16 month old girl who made my day
with her smile and laughter.

Highlights:
- 2 Hawk Owls in Sax-Zim Bog. 1. Hawk Owl along CR 7 just north of the
Byrne's Greenhouse on the east side of road. 2. Hawk Owl about .25 miles
south of Arkola RD (CR 52) on Owl Avenue on west side of road.

- 2 Boreal Chickadees at the Admiral Rd.

- 30 Snow Buntings along CR 7 south of Greenhouse.

- 1 Snowy Owl (imm male) on the Riley Rd off the Jean Duluth Road in
Duluth. Look for the owl on the west side of ball fields. There is some
private property owned by University of Minnesota - Duluth on the west side
of ball fields. Look on top of the huge mounds of snow & brush where the
owl roosts or other smaller mounds nearby. Best viewed by setting up
scopes on Riley Rd. to view owl on mounds.

Other news:

No Great Grays were seen at the bog and also no reports of King Eider in
Duluth along the north shore.
