This afternoon, while doing some driving for work, I discovered another Snowy Owl. This one in Empire Township, along HWY 3, about 300 yards south of the intersection with 160th St/CR 46, on the east side of the road. The bird was on the ground in the rolling farm fields. Initially I had no binoculars, but returned an hour later and it was still in the same location. With another opportunity to study the bird closely, this one was likely an immature bird as well, but less heavily patterned than the one I discovered at 180th St. and Emery Ave. 2 days ago. The location is west of the epicenter of activity described by Bruce Fall, and likely represents an 8th bird in the county.
Also, saw an adult Red-shouldered Hawk in Apple Valley earlier this morning. Drew Smith [email protected] ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
