I was fortunate to find 4 Fox Sparrows this afternoon at Miesville Ravine County Park. These birds were found along Orlando Ave. as it comes down into the Ravine and Dakota County Park. They were easy to pick out as they scratched in the plowed roadside. Next to the Juncos these were big sparrows. I had plenty of time to watch them from the car with binoculars to be absolutely sure of the identification. I knew they were rare for winter and regret not having a camera with me.
