Neighbors in NW Mower County report that a male red headed woodpecker arrived early this week and has stayed around their feeders since. They had a nesting pair at their place last summer. I would also like to share the following signs of spring: regular sightings of eagles flying up and down the Cedar River north of Austin lately, and singing cardinal and chickadee in Eden Prairie yesterday.
