I just located yet another Snowy Owl in the northeast corner of Jackson County. The bird is sitting in a field about 300 yards north of 930th St. halfway between 550th and 560th Ave. Although it is distant it looks to be a very lightly marked individual, suggesting an adult male and therefore a different bird than the female I found just over a mile south of here in early February. That makes a total of 3 individuals within 3 miles of each other since the third week of January.
Today's bird is also less than a mile south of the Cottonwood County line, and currently I am aware of no Cottonwood Snowies yet this winter. Bob Dunlap ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
