Got a good look at a very handsome male kestrel in the back yard for a few minutes late this afternoon. A yard bird first for me, not something I would have expected to see in this habitat with so many trees around. At first I thought an accipiter must be around, since our feeder birds froze in place for quite a long time! No photo unfortunately.
