Hello Fellow Birders: I have to write a note about this. It will be ten years
ago this spring/summer when it was announced that Ivory-billed Woodpeckers had
been found in Arkansas. The euphoria didn't last to long as experts said the
video was a Pileated, not Ivory-billed. I believe a Minnesotan was involved in
the original sighting. Many of us wanted to believe they did see the
Ivory-billed. A gentleman whose website was called Fishcrow looked for years
in Arkansas and I think he has given up looking without a definite sighting. I
guess I am curious if anyone has ever talked to any of the original people who
announced the sighting and what do they think today? I would still like to
believe they are out there.
