I saw a pair of Kestrels copulating on a telephone pole in my field this past weekend. It looks like they have taken up residence in one of the wood duck boxes mounted to the same pole. One interesting observation is that if Kestrels are nesting, Cowbirds, Starlings and English Sparrows steer clear of my property. Needless to say, I like having them there.
