Checked a few Mpls lakes today. Loons on all of them. Most on Lake Nokomis at least 30. Also some horned grebes, scaupes and common mergansers. About 20 loons on lake Hiawatha. Diamond lake had only one loon but a large flock of about 20 northern shovelors many in courtship dance. Snelling lake had a few loons and a large amount of pied-billed grebes, at least 35.
