Larry Dolphin, the Director of the Hormel Nature Center in Austin, along with the Austin Fire Department rescued a Barred Owl from a house chimmney on Turesday. You can see movies of the rescue on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/hormelnaturecenter They used a snare and were able to get the bird around the middle. The bird was released unharmed.
