FOY sighting of the Red Headed Woodpecker.

Walking out of the Lodge I noticed a Red Head on the Maple eating the sap. It
stayed quite close to the resort grounds up in the trees and going back for
more sap from time to time. The yellow bellied sapsucker did not like the
intrusion making a fuss, did not want to share this tree. I did notice a 2nd
Red
Headed woodpecker nearby in some trees. At times both red heads were on the
tree together make a little racket then off they fly.

We are the field site tomorrow for the Festival of the Birds & I am hoping
these
woodpeckers will be easy to spot for everyone.
