Steve Gardner and I birded Felton Prairie this morning from 7:30-11:00. Here
are the highlights from 170th St:

10 Greater Prairie Chickens seen north of the cattle guard feeding on the west
side of the fence. They were spread along about a mile and seen in four
different groups of 2,4,2 and 2. These were seen right away (7:30-8:00).

2-3 Chestnut-collared Longspurs about a half mile north of the cattle guard in
the prairie on the east side of the road. It took us 3 hours to find this
target
bird.

5 Western Kingbirds - 3 in the trees on 170th and 2 further north flying along
the fenceline.

Numerous Grasshopper Sparrows and Marbled Godwits.

A hen Blue-winged Teal crossing 170th with a half dozen ducklings in tow.

We also drove Co. Rd. 108 east of MN Hwy. 9 and found 1 Loggerhead Shrike
near the end of the road (about 2 miles east of Hwy. 9) on the wires on the
north side of the road.
