Hi All— A very late post here, but, last June, I banded a Downy Woodpecker with an abnormally long bill. I finally got around to posting a photo on my blog.
http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com Yesterday I posted a review of the new National Geographic bird guide. Just scroll down from the woodpecker post. Or here is a direct link: http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com/2014/10/review-national-geographic-complete.html Finally, the back woods has literally been swarming with warblers the last four days. These birds have been mostly Yellow-rumped, Nashville, and Tennessee Warblers. Not much else except for a few Orange-crowned Warblers and Blue-headed Vireos. I have banded almost 100 of them. dan -- Dan or Erika Tallman Northfield, Minnesota [email protected] http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com ".... the best shod travel with wet feet...Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes ....”—H.
