I'm a graduate student at the University of Minnesota. As part of my
research I'm looking to organize species based on migration behavior,
specifically separating non-migratory/permanent resident species from
all migratory birds. Does anyone know of a list of NA or MN bird species
that has this type of information?
I can be reached via email and nicho561ATumnDOTedu

This Fall has been really good for shorebird migration on the MVNWR due to the
long extensive mudflats stretching along Long Meadow Lake. At the Bass Ponds
this morning there were 40 Long-billed Dowitchers wading together moving around
providing good views, they have been plentiful this season. Also present again
were Black-bellied Plovers flying around and calling, Dunlin, Semipalmated
Plover, Semipalmated Sandpiper, Least, Pectoral, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs,
Wilson's Phalarope, and the Killdeer. A scope would be needed to enjoy most of
these species.
