This evening at the southwest corner on and around the two floating docks there were two different first-cycle Lesser Black-backed Gulls. One appeared to still be in juvenile plumage as it showed crisp, sharply edged coverts and scapulars. On the other covert feathering was less clearly defined and more black. Both birds looked quite petite in body, head shape and bill when compared to the Herring Gulls standing next to them.
Also present at times were two adult and one first-cycle Thayer's Gull. I never got to the NE corner of the lake where a thousand (?) additional gulls were beginning to roost for the night.
