Scott Meyer and I drove the loop of Lake County Hwy 2, State Hwy 1, and Stoney
River Forest Road this morning, with a side trip down the Whyte Forest Road.
The entire trip was quite birdy, largely due to the constant presence of Common
Redpoll flocks. Pine Grosbeaks were also common. We encountered one male
Spruce Grouse on county 2 about a mile north of the Sand River.
There was a flock of six Boreal Chickadees on the Stoney River FR , the most I
have ever seen in one spot.
