I ran an errand to Willmar this afternoon (4:30) and so I checked to see if the
adult male
Snowy was out by the MN 23 and Business 71 interchange (Mills Ford/Toyota
area). It
was sitting on a light pole on an exit ramp. Steve Gardner had said he had seen
it in the
morning a couple miles to the west at Co. Rd. 5. Curiosity got the best of me
since that
is a long distance, so I drove out to Co. Rd. 5 and found a second male Snowy
Owl
perched on a pole. Based on the markings, these are the two owls I saw
interact with
each other last week.

Pictures are on my eBird checklists.

I checked on the Atwater/Bushmills Snowy this afternoon but couldn't find it.
I may have
been there too early in the day. I did find, strangely, a Meadowlark south of
Bushmills.
