Yesterday I drove to the address I reported (24610 515th Ave) and failed to find a Snowy. More important than that was that I could not even find the fire number, and the habitat did not look ideal for a Snowy Owl. Today I asked my superintendent about the address she gave me, and she got in touch with her source, a rural mail carrier. The carrier gave the wrong address. The correct address was 28610 515th Ave. This is still between Atwater and Grove City but about a mile NORTH of US 12. I was able to confirm the sighting by looking at some pictures my superintendent showed me. The immature/female Snowy sits on a post at the end of the driveway. It was seen yesterday several times by Jon Slinden who lives in the area. I took a quick drive out there over lunch today and did not see it. However, this area looks like ideal real estate for a Snowy Owl. I will check again on my way home.
