At least one of the two COMMON EIDERS discovered on Lake Superior in east Duluth is still being seen. Check the harbor and also Canal Park near the bridge. Also in Duluth, the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW is still visiting the feeders in the alley near the junction of 44th Avenue East and Regent Street. In Dakota County, a EURASIAN TREE SPARROW is being seen intermittently at the corner of 197th Street East and Orr Avenue in Ravenna Township. This is southeast of Hastings. A first Red Lake County record NORTHERN HAWK OWL was found on the 20th at the junction of U.S. Highway 59 and county road 1, just south of the town of Plummer. As many as four TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES are still at the Ann Lake campground at the Sherburne NWR. From the town of Orrock, go south on Sherburne County Road 5 for about a mile, then turn east on the campground road and go for another mile. Park at the small parking area on the south side of the road and walk the trail beyond the yellow gate. On the 24th, a VARIED THRUSH was in the northeast corner of Eagle's Nest County Park, Watonwan County, but I have no specific location. And another has been seen for several days in Good Thunder, Blue Earth County, at the Binstock residence, 152 Sunset Village Road.
