A new version of the smartphone program to enter birds into the MOU has been completed. This program is actually a web page located at:

    http://moumn.org/n/ (notice the trailing /)

There is a link to this page on http://moumn.org at:

    Reporting Birds -> Smartphone Reporting

The features include:

 * automatic change of county as you move from one county to another
   (if GPS is enabled)
 * automatic change of birds shown in the checklist depending on
o checklist selection - (Common, Uncommon, Occasional, Rare,
       Migrant, or All)
     o county - selected county
o season - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter
o date - migration dates are in the program for North and South
       counties
 * indication of what birds are "new county birds" for you (asterisk
   next to species name)

o total seen by all in the current county
 * "color book" maps of what counties you have seen (and reported) a
   species
 * "memory" of locations you have set in the past for counties and
   auto-fill of location names
 * operation with no Internet connection. It must be first accessed
with an Internet connection, but does not need the connection until
it is time to report the birds into the MOU database.

The database used for this program is now available in windows phones as well as android and apple phones and tablets. This database is also available on the Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome browsers. (The previous database was not supported by IE, Firefox, and windows phones.)

Basic operation (see Reporting Birds -> Smartphone Reporting)

 * Connect once to http://moumn.org/n/ with WiFi or other internet
   connection
 * [optional] go to "Reporting Birds -> Smartphone Reporting" and
   download your county birds
 * enter birds by clicking on the open box or click on the species name
and enter number of species seen
 * at the end of the day, click on "> MOU" to send the list of species
   seen to the MOU database.

Let me know if this program is useful to you.

Thanks.
