If you're looking to learn more about birds of the world, especially unique raptors most of us don't ordinarily see, Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings is hosting 6 different sessions of an excellent program featuring live birds by the World Bird Sanctuary this weekend. There will be presentations at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00 both Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $10, $7 for Carpenter Members. Call ahead for reservations, as this tends to sell out early. The speakers are extremely knowledgeable and their delivery is very effective at engaging interest in a wide audience. Linda Whyte
