Subject: FW: Green Woodpecker and Least Weasel photo (not shopped)

This photo was taken by a photographer with a handheld telephoto at a park in
England. The bird is a male Green Woodpecker and the mammal is the same as the
NAmerican least weasel.

BBC TV News covered this story tonight (PBS). They talked to the photographer
and also a naturalist who spoke about the weasel. My guide to birds of Europe
says the woodpecker is 12 1/2 inches long. They eat a lot of ants. It seems
that the weasel attacked the bird on the ground and hung on when the bird took
off. Weasels are ferocious. More text at the bottom of page.
