I stopped by the 180th St Marsh (Dakota County? just north of Vermillion) to
find it mostly open water. Three of the four main pools are fully clear of ice
and the fourth is about 2/3rds clear.

Toward the back of the larger pool, there were a couple dozen Ring-necked
ducks, two Redheads, two Hooded mergs, two Common goldeneye, two Killdeer, 100
Canada geese and several hundred Mallards. Redwing blackbirds in the century
farmyard to the east and a few Horned larks in the grass. Several muskrats in
each pool swimming laps.

There was no other standing water along 180th. C'mon spring rain!
