Earlier this morning I observed a basic plumage Horned Grebe out from the
observation deck of the MVNWR ~ Bass Ponds in Bloomington, Hennepin Co. With
Long Meadow Lake mostly open along the Refuge I have enjoyed a variety of 18
species of ducks funneling in and out daily. Large flocks of migrating Greater
White-fronted Geese have been enjoyed, as well as the Sandhill Cranes, Northern
Harriers, and the arrival of Killdeer in the Refuge making today feel more like
the first day of Spring here in Hennepin County!
