From the stop light in Aitkin go approx 3 miles north and turn right on Aitkin County Road 1. From there go approx 6 miles on 1 and there is a T in the road. Take a right on 1 and go for approx 1 mile east (you're still on 1), then take a left on Aitkin Cty Rd 1 for approx 3/4 of a mile. On the left side of the road is a rice paddy loaded with Tundra Swans, Canada Geese many species of ducks and approx 100-200 Greater White Fronted Geese. Jo Blanich and I saw these GWFG yesterday, my wife and I as well as Ron Erpelding saw them today. Jo Blanich mentioned to me yesterday that in approx 40 years of birding Aitkin County Road 1 she has never seen this many Tundra Swans let alone the GWFG. I would estimate 2,000 TS.
