Arrived at the Bass Ponds about 6:30 to look for the Ruff. We and the
other birders we met were unsuccessful in locating it. It was last seen
about 3:00 or 4:00. There were thousands of shorebirds on Long Meadow
Lake. I ID'd 9 species including Dunlin, LB Dowitcher, and Wilson Snipe.
The vast majority were Lesser Yellowlegs. In addition there was at least
one Baltimore Oriole, and a good number of warblers, mostly Yellow-rumps,
but also Yellow and possibly Blackburnian and Black and White.
