Be among the first to hear from authors about their just-released books at
the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds, May 14-17 held at the new lodge at
Detroit Mountain Recreation Area. Thursday night features Bob Janssen and
his new book, Birds of Minnesota State Parks. He follows a Thursday workshop
on Grassland Sparrow I.D. by Doug Buri. Friday night Paul Baicich and Carrol
Henderson share the story of their book Feeding Wild Birds in America at a
renovated barn hayloft in lakes country. Saturday night's keynote is the
grand prize winner of Audubon's photo contest, Melissa Groo

Morning fieldtrips with birding experts/naturalist to prairies, forests and
wetlands (shorebirds arriving daily!) Free Saturday workshops, exhibitors,
