Three Rivers Park District is coordinating a Trumpeter Swan survey this month
in Hennepin, Anoka, Washington, Ramsey and Dakota Counties in conjunction with
the Minnesota DNR Nongame Wildlife Program and The Trumpeter Swan Society. The
public is requested to email or phone in swan observations beginning May 11th.
Please include the date, location (name if available) of the wetland and the
number of swans observed. Trumpeter Swans in Minnesota generally nest during
May and June and will remain on their home wetland until early fall when the
young (cygnets) gain flight. This survey is part of the 2015 North American
Trumpeter Swan Survey, an official survey of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife
Service that counts Trumpeter Swans every 5 years.

Sightings should be sent to Madeleine Linck, Wildlife Technician, Three Rivers
Park District at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>
or 763-694-7851.
Thank you.
