MOU photographers
I just reread this article from March 2015 about J Sartore's project to photo every species of animal in captivity around the world. I guess he thinks of it as a archive of biodiversity, a photographic ark. The whole purpose is to build public awareness of need for conservation. The print issue of the magazine includes a two page spread of 100's of thumbnails of some of the project photos to date. You might have seen the article in March 2013 Audubon with the cover of the endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow. The pictures there were all his and the FWS increased funding for the bird more than 10-fold after publication.
