You're right, Jim, it does have an owner and you can find it by using the 
letters and numbers on the band.

You'll have to capture it, write down the letters/numbers and then go to the 
American Union Racing Pigeon site.

If the first letters are AU you can find the club on their site. Go to the 
appropriate year and then search the club names for the 2-3 alpha code. (This 
will all make sense once you see the page.)

If it's not an AU bird, they have links in their site to other clubs.

If you want us to help you look it up, just give us a call w that info. We can 
do it with you on the phone.  651-486-9453.  We're open until 6pm today.

Note that because the bird is domestic and has an owner, plus due to increased 
biosecurity, we cannot accept the bird.
