Nine Pine Siskins are visiting our feeders regularly for the first time in at
least 4 years.

To those who are interested: In the last Cannon Falls newspaper, The Beacon,
there is a notice that Lake Byllesby will not be refilled by the county until
April 1, 2016, after the ice has melted. It is now at 848 ft. above sea level.
On May 15, 2016, it will be filled to the summer level of 856.7 ft. above sea
level. The delay is due to weather conditions that changed the construction
schedule for Byllesby Dam repairs, which are taking longer than expected. The
west side is very low at this time, and perhaps (hopefully) will attract some
shorebirds before the water is refilled.
