All,

The Long Tailed Duck has been seen off and on all day. Thanks to all who have
posted so far on ebird and mou. Currently the duck is sleeping with a group of
goldeneye about a half mile upstream from the Dam at 3:30 pm. The location is
on Zieglers Drive the first right north of Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park. There
was a few of us birders and a homeowner that was gracious enough to let us
watch the long tail in her backyard. This was at the end of the dead end road.
In talking with the neighbors they would be open to a little bit of traffic but
not much (there is very little parking space available). So if it is not seen
from the Dam this a location that could be checked as long as we are all
respectful about it. It is possible to walk to the spot on the east side of the
river so maybe that would be a better option moving forward. Once again thanks
to all who posted and the homeowners who were intrigued by the rare duck!
