Maureen and I were out of town last week, so we were eager to take a long walk at Elm Creek Park Reserve this morning to see what returned during our absence. Highlights:

Golden-crowned Kinglet - one bird, made us work for a visual at least 5 minutes after hearing his faint song. FOY Eastern Phoebe - another FOY for us; a single silent bird, not close to any streams or nesting structures
Sandhill Crane - one bird calling while flying overhead; FOY for us in MN
Wood Ducks - another MN FOY for us
