EARED GREBES are beginning to build nests at the East Grand Forks sewage ponds
again this year.  There were probably close to 300 or so grebes. I had checked
about 8 days ago and could not see any sign of nesting building at that time.
Unfortunately,  I don't know how many more years these ponds will be around,
it's possible this could be the last year. I believe they will eventually be
'decommissioned'. Also present were RUDDY DUCK, RED-NECKED GREBE, AMERICAN
WIGEON, GADWALL, MALLARD, BW TEAL, N SHOVELER, REDHEAD, RING-NECKED DUCK,
LESSER SCAUP, HOODED MERGANSER, PIED-BILLED GREBE, BOBOLINK, YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD, etc.
In keeping with all the other reports around the state this month,  I also
found 5 DICKCISSELS just north of the edge of East Grand Forks, and another 5 a
few miles NW of the sewage ponds.
